Q
What are the main ingredients of Phisit's Paper?

Our Premium White paper is mostly made up of  extra virgin hardwood pulp and water. We also add pigments which improves the brightness, opacity and surface finish. Starch gives the paper strength, stiffness, reduces dusting and improves print quality.

Q
How can I make my inkjet prints last longer?

The best way is to laminate the prints with a UV resistant laminate but alternatively keep the prints away from strong light and display under glass or in an album. You will never go wrong with paper from Phisith Industrial

Q
Are all papers suitable for colour printing?

Colour inkjet and laser printing places more demands on the paper than monochrome work. Only those papers guaranteed for colour printing should be used for these applications.

Q
Can alternative fibres be used to make paper?

Paper can be made from most types of plant fibre, and some commercial products are manufactured partly or wholly from non-wood fibres such as cotton, flax, hemp, bagasse and kenaf. However, these products are only produced in relatively minor quantities by a few mills around the world.

Q
What is whiteness? What do you see?

When light shines on the surface of paper, the light that gets reflected is what you see as its colour. Depending on the colour of the light source and the colour of the paper, the light you see forms a visible spectrum of colours from violet through indigo, blue, green, yellow, orange and red.

Q
What is the CIE Whiteness Index?

CIE Whiteness, developed by the European CIE (International Commission on Illumination) is the most commonly used whiteness index. The CIE measure of whiteness is a measurement of light reflected by the paper across the visible spectrum when viewed under ‘daylight’.

You know the saying, “to each his own”  which means everyone is entitled to their own preference and that applies to choosing the right A4 paper as well. Your company may be loyal to using the same A4 paper brand for years, but here are some of the brands that are commonly used: Double A, PaperOne Navigator, Hammermill and IK Yellow.

Printer paper is cut from their original rolls at the factory into common or custom sizes depending on use. Some of the common paper sizes in North America are:

  • 8.5 x 11" US Letter Size
  • 8.5 x 14" US Legal Size
  • 11 x 17" US Tabloid Size
  • 17"x11" US Ledger Size
  • 5.5 x 8.5" US Statement Size

In Europe, printers use a different standardization for paper sizes, such as the A standard. Some of the common paper sizes in the A standard are:

    • A0 - 84.1 x 118.9cm (33.11 x 46.81")
    • A1 - 59.4 x 84.1cm (23.39 x 33.11")
    • A2 - 42.0 x 59.4cm (16.53 x 23.39")
    • A3 - 29.7 x 42.0cm (11.69 x 16.53")
    • A4 - 21.0 x 29.7cm (8.27 x 11.69")
